Given the Recent Situation in Egypt, How Does Jasmine Brown Feel About Living in a Democracy?

I believe it’s important for people to live in a democracy just for the simple fact that your opinion counts. In a democracy, the people of a state have to go through a long process in order to make one decision. Most of the time in a democratic nation we spend time electing, voting, debating, compromising, in order to have a possible solution. In a Dictatorship, the leader makes a decision and that’s final. What would take us a year in a democracy would take them months or even weeks in a dictatorship. They don’t sit and think how it would help the people or ask the people what they want. They just say and people do it.

Given the Recent Situation in Egypt, How Does Vandesha Walker Feel About Living in a Democracy?

I think that it is important to live in a democracy because people should have the right to do whatever they want as long as it does not endanger the life of others. I know that it shows a sign of respect when you listen to those who are older than you but there should be a limit as to what is right and what is wrong. Not everyone is honest. So sometimes the things that people are told to do may be sinful and if we live under a dictatorship rule then we would have to follow those orders. The things that we have are different from what people have under a dictatorship. We have the freedom to go to school or to get a job. We have freedom of speech while people under a dictatorship rule do not have any of that. Freedom brings happiness and I believe that everyone deserves to be happy.

Given the Recent Situation in Egypt, How Does Tyler Williams Feel About Living in a Democracy?

I think that it is important to live in a Democracy because the people are in control. A functioning democracy is the form of government that provides its citizens the most freedom, the most opportunity, the greatest prosperity (an economic state of growth with rising profits and full employment), and the most comfortable life. In Democracy the people pretty much have control over most of the things such as electing the President, and deciding if we should go to war. If you live in a Democracy you and the rest of the population are able to enhance everything to the public’s needs.

In a democracy you can choose the religion that is meaningful to you, and you can choose your spouse and your education. You can listen to any kind of music, and you are free to watch any movie and read any book that you like. You can also choose freely what kind of clothes you wish to wear. Freedom like this is very important because you do not want to be controlled, completely, you want to be able to do things you want and have to do.

People under Dictatorship rule have fewer rights. In Dictatorship the Dictator can govern without consent. They can do as they please with country or area of control. In Democracy, the people have the right to shut down political processes and put down presidents

Given the Recent Situation in Egypt, How Does Jenee Lawson Feel About Living in a Democracy?

Democracy is a form of political organization in which all people have equal control over the matters that affect their interests. It is important to live in a democracy because everyone is equal and can share their opinion. We live in a world full of diverse cultures and political views. When people live under dictatorship they are basically being controlled, they have no opinion and they just have to agree with everything that happens. For example Adolf Hitler was a dictator; he led the atrocities against the Jews. Dictatorship is wrong and no one should have to live under it. When you live in a democracy you have so many privileges and when you live under dictatorship you are trapped.

Given the Revolution in Egypt, How Does Kavon Williams Feel about Living in a Democracy?

I think it is important to live in a Democracy because it means freedom. To be treated equally and to have rights. Also to be able to vote people in to represent the government that is strong and fit to rule.

The right that I have that people under a Dictatorship do not have is that when I turn 18 years old I will be able to vote for my political party members and for a president. Supporting good leaders and replacing the bad ones. I will also have equality and opportunities as a citizen and be able to live a life of my liking.

Given the Revolution in Egypt, How Does Imaan Williams Feel about Living in a Democracy?

I think freedom of speech is one of the most powerful things a person living can have. Living in a democracy would help people feel more equal to one another as well as create more peace. One thing that we have is the right to vote on things & situations that we may like or be against. If more countries allow their citizens’ voices to be heard, this world would have been a better place.

Given the Revolution in Egypt, How Does Gabrielle Bradley Feel about Living in a Democracy?

Living in a democracy is much better than living in a dictatorship. Democracy allows people to live in freedom and they also have the right to vote and many more things but living in a dictatorship is a whole other thing. When you live in a dictatorship you do not have the right to vote and you also have to do what you are told by the president because you are not free. When you are in different government you have many different rules. Some rules that are different is that the monarch also known as the king or a small group of people have unlimited power when living in dictatorship but when you live in democracy the power of the government is divided into groups, so that no one branch would not have too much power. Also when living in the democracy you are protected by the constitution that has rules like freedom of speech, of religion, of press and many others so that people can be safe.

Given the Revolution in Egypt, How Does Kaela Jones Feel about Living in a Democracy?

I think it is important to live in a democracy because not everyone is going to have the same views or feelings about our government.  Living in a democracy allows people to be individuals. Democracy allows people  to voice their views or concerns. For example we have elections to choose who we want to represent the United States. The people who choose who they want to be leader don’t have to feel that they will be punished if they don’t think or feel the way the dictator feels. Also I don’t think it is fair to punish other people because they think or they feel differently from the dictator. I also think it is important because if people live under a dictatorship none of their opinions will be heard.  When living under a democracy you can vote for what you believe in or what you want to happen. For example if there was a particular law that was voted into congress but the law had flaws, the people could lobby to get them to change the law. But when you are living under a dictatorship you can’t decide on what you believe in, you are told what to believe. you can’t debate on what you think is right, you have no choice but to go with it. But when deciding to live under a democracy you can do the total opposite. I have the right of freedom. I can think and choose for myself. When the government has complete say over how things go they want to control every part of your life.  I’m happy to live in a democratic government because I have a voice and I want it to be heard.
