Imaan Williams’ Thoughts About Cathy Black, The Ex-NYC’s School Chancellor.

I think that appointing someone with no experience in the school system as school chancellor is a very dumb decision. That is like putting a new born baby in first grade after a month of being in this earth. As a student in private school, I believe that public schools should enhance their security systems. A lot of violence has taken place in NYC public schools (as well as private schools). To make the schools better things in education and security should step up.

Imaan Williams on the Public Outcry for Gun Control

Most guns are being used in the most violent ways as possible. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords being shot is a perfect example of why the gun control law should be one of the most emphasized laws possible. I think that owning a gun take a lot of responsibility and if you know you cannot use in with meanings of good then why use it at all. People who believe there should be better gun control laws should join forces together to get the message across. We can protests, sign petitions and many other things are examples of way we all as citizens can do to help this law become one of the finest.

Given the Revolution in Egypt, How Does Imaan Williams Feel about Living in a Democracy?

I think freedom of speech is one of the most powerful things a person living can have. Living in a democracy would help people feel more equal to one another as well as create more peace. One thing that we have is the right to vote on things & situations that we may like or be against. If more countries allow their citizens’ voices to be heard, this world would have been a better place.

Joshua’s Nickelodeon HALO Award by Imaan Williams

Watching the Halo Awards last Friday has really inspired me to keep striving on in life. To see the work that so many young people have done is very inspiring to me. Even though I have had so many volunteering opportunities, none comes close 2 what the Halo Honorees have done. My favorite honoree would have to be Lauren. As it is her goal to help out kids in foster care; it is mine to help kids that have experienced child abuse. She is someone who I feel will go big in life and when I grow up I want to be just like her.
