Washington, DC – Taijah’s Experience

My experience in Washington, Dc was fun. I liked going to Capitol Hill to meet Congressman Elijah Cummings. Elijah talked about life when he was our age. The stories he told us were captivating and I could really relate to what he was saying. Elijah also told us to say “We are the now”. This means that we don’t have to wait until the future to make a change we are already making it happen in our community and the world. When we went to the Holocaust Museum it really touched me. It was sad that somebody would go that much out of their way to abuse and kill the Jews because of their race. The trip was fun and I wish we could of stay longer.

Young People’s Role Model – Taijah’s Idea

I think that it is also true that many young kids/teens look up to rappers, Sport players, singers,and etc, But i believe that they should look up to their parents before they look up to anybody else. I say this because your parents are the ones who brought you into this world and you she thank them and cherish every moment and time you spend/share with them.

Volunteer Abroad or at Home – Taijah’s Idea

If I Could Travel Around the World I would go to Haiti because I would like to help bring good resources and fresh water and food. I would also talk to some people who are helping out Haiti to figure out a way to help kids learn instead of not doing anything during the day.

Child Obesity – Taijah’s Idea

You can blame the parents for child obesity because parents allow their kids to eat any and everything they want. When a child is young the parent should not let them eat whatever they want it don’t only lead to obesity but also health problems. Something Mayor Bloom-berg can do is start a program for kids where they don’t only learn but they can discuss how they feel about their weight or do they want to lose weight etc. The program can also have a health study guide to show the kids how important it is to stay healthy.
