What Other African Country Would Shakirah Brown Like to Visit?

Well another african country I would like to travel to is back to Johannesburg because I feel I have not completed my mission. What I mean by mission is that I feel I did not do enough when I was in South Africa last summer to volunteer with the poor and those affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic.  I came back home but I still think about the people that are struggling there. So I want to go back and do more to bring releif and a smile to the people. I also like the city of  Johannesburg cause it’s a beautiful place. That’s the main reason why I would travel to South Africa.

This Year Bad Winter Season by Shakirah Brown

Well no I don’t think that’s why people are blaming global warming. I think people is blaming global warming because not enough people is recycling and keeping our planet clean an safe. That’s what I think people are blaming global warming. What I would do to keep our planet green is tell at least the amount of people about it. I would tell them how it is important to keep our planet clean. I would hand out information on how they can help keep our planet green and global warming. Those are the ideas I would love to do more and to help people understand its important to us.

What Social Problem Would Shakirah Brown Try to Solve if She Had $1 Million?

I would go back to South Africa to help build new homes for Diepsloot residents to live in. And I would give some of the money to charity. The reason why I would go back to South Africa is because there are a lot of people who need homes with living space for the kids, areas to store their clothes. The other reason why I would go back to South Africa is that I always wanted to give money to charity to help others meet their needs. The final outcome is that South Africa would be a place where people would have their dream come true.

Why So Many Americans Are Suffering Economically Today – Shakirah’s Opinion

I think people are suffering maybe because they don’t have everything that they need. Some people are homeless and are in need of clothes, money, jobs, and most importantly their own family. I think our government needs to help out the people who are in these conditions first. The government should also give the people who don’t have anything at all a place to stay in, job skills so they can get jobs. Those are things that I think the government should do.

Washington DC – Shakira’s Experience

My time here in Washington D.C has been a really great experience. When we first got here we went to Capitol Hill to meet with Congresswoman Yvette Clark and Congressmen Elijah Cummings. The congresswoman told us about her job here in Congress. Congressman Cummings told us that “ We are not the future, we are the now.” He also told us that we should appreciate what we have and appreciate visiting Washington DC. My favorite tour was the White House tour. The tour guide told us all the interesting things about the different rooms. My other favorite tour was the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. This is where they make all our paper money. It was a great experience being there. We also visited the Holocaust museum. There I learn how the Nazis took over and started to kill the Jewish people. They blamed the Jews for the problems in their country.

Young People’s Role Model – Shakirah’s Idea

I think people should look up to people who inspire them to do good deeds. For example the one person I look up to is my family. They inspire me to do good things like my grades, help out others, and more. They also tell me not to follow people and be a leader or choose the right path instead of the wrong one. I think that’s what people should look up to. Say if your mother is your role model you say why she’s your role model. My family is the best inspiration to me because they taught me right from wrong. And now that I am doing good. I did service work in South Africa and helped others with the things they wanted and needed. Although we couldn’t get all of things they wanted, we were able to get the basics.

Volunteer Abroad or at Home – Shakirah’s Ideas

I would travel to Paris and South Africa because it’s a very beautiful place you can be. I would volunteer to do fundraiser for South Africa so they can use the money for want they need. And also important things they can do with that money and I would volunteer to do a fundraiser in Paris to see if they can help support South Africa. I what to do is help the people that need and wants help like i can give or make food for people who needs. Whatever they need anything I’m there for them and i like helping them because they are happy. When people are happy it makes me happy. And that’s why I would travel to those two places and volunteer for one month.

Child Obesity – Shakirah

Honestly I don’t know why 1 in 3 kids are overweight or obese. Maybe something probably happens to them as they growing up or something else. I don’t know why the kids are even overweight or obese and maybe it can be a disease that they have that is making them like that. I think Mayor Bloomberg should make a public announcement saying we should stop this disease or even get us being tested before doing anything else. Or maybe Mayor Bloomberg can make posters talking about the problems that we are facing in life. That’s all I can say about what I think about 1 in 3 kids are overweight or obese. An also you can say that our Mayor Bloomberg can make the notice on T.V. about the problems kids and teens, and others are facing in this world. So that’s all I have to say about what I think Mayor Bloomberg should do to combat this problem in the community.
