The trip to Washington, DC has been amazing. We visited the Capitol Hill, the White House, Georgetown University, the Newseum, the Holocaust museum, and the place where money is made. When Journey for change went to Capitol Hill we met Congresswoman Yvette Clarke and Congressman Elijah Cummings. Congresswoman Clarke told us that she served right after her mom in Congress. She also told us how some churches do free testing for HIV/AIDS. Then we met Congressman Cummings. He used to be bullied and his school counselor said he could never be a lawyer. Now since he became a lawyer, his clients include the same kids that bullied him as a child. Then we had an amazing tour of the Capitol Building. It was really big.
We also went on a tour of the White House. It was amazing. The blue room in the White House was the best but it was crowded. Also we went to Georgetown University. It was big and we now learn a lot about the campus. They have a lot of activities and groups. The Newseum was fun. It showed a lot of big events in history. They had a lot of newspaper storylines. Then we went to the Holocaust museum. Germans slaughtered over 6 million Jewish people because they were afraid the Jews would take over. The last place we went was where they make the money, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. We saw all the steps in the money making process. As you can see Washington D.C. is amazing. We were able to see a lot of places. Washington D.C. is so cool. Tomorrow we are going to visit the National Museum of American History a few memorials.
