This Year Bad Winter Season by Jordan Griffin

People say its global warming but they continue to litter and not keep the earth clean so they can’t complain. People need to be aware and really watch what they do. My mom got mail with a bunch of papers that say go green how can they go green using all of that paper.

South Sudan Break Away from Sudan by Jordan Griffin

It’s important to the people of South Sudan because now they will see how it’s going to be like a real country.  They will experience freedom and the power to govern themselves. From now on they will not have to take orders from the Sudanese government.

What Would Jordan Griffin Say to President Obama If He Could Speak With Him?

I would talk to him about why did it take so long for him to go and help with the oil spill and get the cleanup efforts started. You can tell he took long because his daughter even said it. I would ask how he feels about being the first black president and does it affect what he does while he is in office.

What Social Problem Would Jordan Griffin Try to Solve If He Had $1 Million?

If I was giving a million dollars I would probably help countries in the Middle East. They are very poor; and yet they receive very little help. They fight among themselves and seem to always have wars. Innocent people are often the victims. If we really want to stop wars and live in peace we have to help the Middle East.  Once that is done we the killing will stop and people would go on with their lives.

What Leader Inspires Jordan Griffin the Most?

I don’t really look up to people in education and politics because you don’t know who they really are. They say one thing then do another. We just see the stuff they do on TV and the news but we don’t know what happens behind the scenes of all that. Someone can be nice on TV and when they go off they can hate everyone and say mean things.

This Local Issue Needs Attention by Jordan Griffin

It is really more than one big problem in my community. One is gang violence, another arguing and yet another loud music playing. I know a lot of gang members who live in my community and a lot of fights start to happen. People are always arguing than it ends up with gun sounds out my window. I also hate the loud music playing at night. It is hard for me to go to sleep because all I hear is music. Then I am always tired in the morning.

What’s on Jordan’s Mind Today?

I think it’s bad that so many people get concussions in football. People don’t think it is serious but it can cause a lot of injuries to your head and brain. Football players and coaches after someone gets hit in the head always want the person to go back in to win the game. They think it’s more important to win than their own safety. I think there should be a rule after getting hit in the head you should sit out the rest of the game.

Why So Many Americans Are Suffering Economically Today – Jordan’s Opinion

People in our country suffer economically because when you’re rich you don’t give up your money. If you want money you have to be at the top of big business. So the government needs to not have so much big business and make sure everyone is equal and has enough money to get what they need.

Washington, DC – Jordan’s Experience

The trip to Washington, DC has been amazing. We visited the Capitol Hill, the White House, Georgetown University, the Newseum, the Holocaust museum, and the place where money is made. When Journey for change went to Capitol Hill we met Congresswoman Yvette Clarke and Congressman Elijah Cummings. Congresswoman Clarke told us that she served right after her mom in Congress. She also told us how some churches do free testing for HIV/AIDS. Then we met Congressman Cummings. He used to be bullied and his school counselor said he could never be a lawyer. Now since he became a lawyer, his clients include the same kids that bullied him as a child. Then we had an amazing tour of the Capitol Building. It was really big.

We also went on a tour of the White House. It was amazing. The blue room in the White House was the best but it was crowded. Also we went to Georgetown University. It was big and we now learn a lot about the campus. They have a lot of activities and groups. The Newseum was fun. It showed a lot of big events in history. They had a lot of newspaper storylines. Then we went to the Holocaust museum. Germans slaughtered over 6 million Jewish people because they were afraid the Jews would take over. The last place we went was where they make the money, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. We saw all the steps in the money making process. As you can see Washington D.C. is amazing. We were able to see a lot of places. Washington D.C. is so cool. Tomorrow we are going to visit the National Museum of American History a few memorials.

Young People’s Role Model – Jordan’s Idea

Kids right now should look up to their parents because their parents did everything for them. Also they should look up to teachers who are helping them to learn, police officers for keeping them safe and Barack Obama who is the first black president trying his best to keep this country in order.
