Bria Henry’s Idea on Automatic Citizenship to Children Born to Illegal Immigrants

In my opinion I think that this idea is not very fair because if you were born in the United States and not in any other country you have the right already to be a citizen just because you were born in the U.S. Another reason why I think this idea is not fair is because even though your parents weren’t born here, but you are. This means that you should have the right to be a citizen of the United States. You have all the rights just like anyone else as long as your birth certificate says born in the United States!

What Other African Country Would Bria Henry Like to Visit?

Now that I have had The Chance To Visit South Africa I Would Like To
Visit Ghana Because I Think That If I Had Another Opportunity To Go To
Another Place In Africa And Save Many More Lives And Help Many Others
That It Would Make Me Feel More Ecstatic And It Would Make me Feel Like I Have
Achieved Another One Of My Goals In Life. Another Reason Why I Would Want To
Go To Ghana is Because some of the first group of Journey for Change ambassadors
Had A great experience In Ghana.

This Year Bad Winter Season by Bria Henry

I think the reason why we had a bad weather is because of global warming.
Also, what we are doing to the earth, polluting it with chemical and garbage, is not a good thing.
What I do to keep the planet clean and green is recycle my plastic and use lots of iron and metal
cans to put my beverages in instead of buy something new to drink every day.
What I would like to do more of is let the problem be known like find a way to tell people about
Global warming and reach out to them and get them informed. Something else I would like to do is
recycle more often because sometimes I forget and let people know that recycling can help not only
themselves but our planet.

South Sudan Break Away from Sudan by Bria Henry

I think this is really important moment in history for South Sudan because they will now be an independent country. No longer will they have to follow everything another leader says. They will now have the chance to vote on what they think is right and what they think is wrong. I also think this is a good thing for South Sudan because if they are successful, this will be a great accomplishment for the African continent. This is a very good thing for South Sudan because they will enjoy all the rights of a democracy.

Bria Henry on The Public Outcry for Gun Control

Yes I do think gun control laws should be enforced. Background checks are not enough. We need to allow law enforcement officers to search people’s property for any suspicion of gun possession. A lot of people own guns. People with guns are more likely to commit acts of violence than those who don’t. By the time you catch these guns owners it is too late. As a citizen I think I can help this issue by protesting to get our elected officials’ attention or by
writing letters to them.

Given the Revolution in Egypt, How Does Bria Henry Feel to Live in a Democracy?

I think it is important that you live under a democracy because you have rights such as the freedom of speech so you can speak your mind on whatever laws that exist or bills that will become laws. People who don’t live in a democracy cannot speak up on a lot of issues that are going on in their country. People who live in a democracy get to vote for who they think can do a good job at ruling their country while in countries with dictators you don’t have that.

This Local Issue Needs Attention by Bria Henry

What I think is the most important issue is Gangs. I think this is the most important issue because many of the youth are participating in gangs and because of this lots of other gangs are having problems with
each other and are being murdered over foolishness. Another reason why I think this is an important issue is because a lot of the younger children ages 10-12 for example are being involved in gangs because they see that their elders are doing it so they want to engage into it to. What I think should be done to eradicate this problem is begin a protest to stop gangs and gang violence.

Why So Many Americans Are Suffering Economically Today – Bria’s Opinion

I think our country is struggling due to the war in Iraq. The war has caused lots of people in the states to lose their jobs and not be able to support their families. Because the government is paying for the war it cannot help the people who are struggling here in the United States. I think the government should end the war now and redirect all their attention and efforts to help people at home. I think the country would be better off.

Washington, DC – Bria’s Experience

The best part of my overall trip to Washington, DC was going to the Holocaust museum. This was the best part because it was very interesting hearing about the Jews and how they lived and how they were treated by the Nazis. The other best thing about my overall trip was going to the Newseum to see the old history and Newspapers. The best part of the Newseum was watching the video about 9/11.  It’s a little sad but I stuck through it. Last but not least the best of all on the Washington D.C. trip was meeting Congressman Elijah Cummings and having him give us a lecture.

Young People’s Role Model – Bria’s Idea

The singer that I think the youth today should look up to is Keke Palmer. I think most people should look up to Keke Palmer because she lets young boys and girls know how beautiful they are no matter what
anyone tells them. Another reason why is because Keke Palmer influences others to do the right thing such as finishing school and continuing onto college. That is why I think many of the youth should look up to Keke Palmer.
