Aneudy Taveraz on the Public Outcry for Gun Control

I think the laws for gun control should’ve been taken care of incidents like the shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.  According to the law, no one with the proper license shoud own a gun.  Law enforcement officers should arrest anyone with an illlegal gun. If I was to help I would go to the government and talk about having police officers check people’s property sometimes to see if they have guns. If they don’t have a license for their gun then they should be arrested.

Given the Recent Situation in Egypt, How Does Aneudy Taveraz Feel About Living in a Democracy?

The citizens of Egypt have to fight for their rights because they live in a dictatorship. But I think President Hosni Mubarak got the citizens mad and as a result the people revolted by starting to fight for their rights.  People deserve the right to live in a free county where everyone is equal under the law.

What’s on Aneudy’s mind today?

What I want to blog about is Journey for Change. I want to start off by saying that is all great to travel around places and meet new people; attend advocacy meetings to learning about HIV/AIDS but unfortunately a few people from our group is not taking it so seriously.  They want to fool around and not listen to instructions; sometimes they are very loud when someone is talking. I want to think we should bring the mentors back. We had a good group when our mentors were there. Without the mentors nobody wants to learn anything. So I think to make JFC2 better we should bring back the mentors and have them stay with us. That way we can learn more and they can help us when we need help.

Why So Many Americans Are Suffering Economically Today – Aneudy’s Opinion

People are actually suffering because they have the money but they are wasting it on drugs and alcohol; that’s not cool at all.  I think the government should impose a ban on alcohol and drugs because the people who drinks and smoke are not doing anything with their lives.  There are a lot of crack heads right now drinking and smoking because they have nothing to do. They don’t want to go to college or have a job. To me that’s crazy; and that’s what I think the government should do.

Young People’s Role Model – Aneudy’s Idea

Well, who I think people should look up to is Dwayne Wade the basketball player in the NBA from the Miami Heat because he is doing so much for the little kids. First he’s doing commercials for the little kids. One of the commercials is the goldfish commercial; to me I think that his commercial means that he wants the kids to exercise instead of playing video games; and that they also need to stop wasting electricity. They need to get up and play a sport such as basketball, football etc. So I think we should look up to Dwayne Wade.

Washington, DC – Aneudy’s Experience

Hi I’m Aneudy Taveraz and I’m going to talk about my experience in Washington DC November 18 to 21, 2010. We went to Capitol Hill and met Congresswoman Yvette Clarke and Congressman Elijah Cummings. What really touched me is that he said that he was in Special Ed. In the 6th grade and he said to himself that work hard, you need to know when to be serious and when to fool around at the right time. It really inspired me. Then the next day we went on a tour of the White House. I thought we were going to meet president Barrack Obama who is Black and White. His mother is White so that’s how he is half White. So we were all in a tour and it was about all the presidents.  Then today, we visited Georgetown University campus. We all saw the library, the auditorium and the big football field. We got to meet new people. Last but not least we went to the Newseum. We all watched a video on the 9/11 attack. Then we went to the Holocaust Museum where we saw the sad part, Hitler killing Jews for nothing. That was my days in Washington DC.

Volunteer Abroad or at Home – Aneudy’s Idea

I would travel to Haiti because since they had a very strong earthquake recently. I would help them and feed them, that is, if I could bring large amount of food for them. What I would like to do about this is tell President Barrack Obama to help Haiti, give them wood, food ,and clothing and also to pray for them so things can get better.

Child Obesity – Aneudy’s Idea

Mayor Bloomberg should make a commercial and advertise that they should lose weight before they get diabetes and they should exercise, drink plenty of water lift weights and play sports.
