Queen Clyde on the Public Outcry for Gun Control

I think there should be better gun control laws. I say this because when government representatives are assassinated it causes problems in the government. Then government has to get new people to fill these positions. No one should be killed because of their stand on issues or what job they have. I think as citizens we should try to let our fellow citizens know that what they’re doing isn’t good without killing them. They need to know that their acts of violence are doing more damage to the government.

Given the Revolution in Egypt, How Does Queen Clyde Feel to Live in a Democracy?

As a citizen of the United States I grew up living in a democracy. To me a democracy is very important because everyone has rights. People revolt and go crazy when they are not free. Such was the case in Egypt. We need to have the choice of who rules over our country. The ruler shouldn’t have the power to make every single decision. There has to be a line drawn when it comes to power. No one in the government should have all the say or power. Everyone in the country should have a voice. No matter what, people need to live their lives without someone telling them what they can or can’t do.

The Importance of Social Media Sites by Queen Clyde

Social media like Twitter and Facebook can be used for fun and also to do good.  For example, Journey for Change uses Twitter to promote our ideas. We also use facebook to post pictures, videos, and links to raise awareness about many issues. Malaak is always posting things on Twitter and Facebook about us. She’s always taking photos of us during advocacy meetings and special events.

Why President Obama’s Message isn’t Connecting With The American People? – Queen’s Idea

I think President Obama’s message isn’t connecting with the American people because he’s probably not being assertive enough. Maybe he should try to be just a little more convincing with what he’s trying to get across the minds of the American people.

HIV/AIDS Awareness – Queen’s Perspective

I think it is very important to raise HIV/AIDS awareness in my community. I think it’s very important because Brooklyn has a lot of HIV/AIDS victims. People should be aware of the disease so that they can know how to take care of themselves, how to prevent it and also how to get tested. People need to know the importance of knowing their HIV/AIDS status. Everyone in Brooklyn who is in jeopardy of becoming a new victim of the disease should be aware of how not to get it.

Facebook Donated $100 Millions to Newark Public Schools – Queen’s Reaction

Mark Zuckerberg’s, the founder of Facebook, donation to the Newark Public Schools is going  to make a tremendous difference. I think it will improve the schools in many different areas. It will help them get books, if they need, and other school supplies such as desks or supplies for teachers. It could also help in getting other things the schools need such as, paper for the offices, supplies for the science teachers when they do labs. I feel this was a very generous and kind donation.
