What Other African Country Would Dasia Carr Like to Visit?

Now that I have traveled to South Africa I’d like to go to Nigeria. The reason for this is because of my genealogy results. The tribes that my ancestors are from are in Nigeria.

Dasia Carr on the Public Outcry for Gun Control

I do think there should be better gun control laws because I constantly here stories on the news on how people are killing each other with unlicensed guns or getting arrested for just having an unlicensed gun. As a citizen I can report as much wrong use of a gun as I can

Given the Revolution in Egypt, How Does Dasia Carr Feel About Living in a Democracy?

I think it is important to live in a democracy because you choose people you trust to be elected in office to make decisions. When living in a democracy you have a voice and a right to disagree with the way things are if you don’t like them without being punished or sent to jail.

Dasia Carr’s College Choices

Three potential majors I’d like to pursue are business, law and theatre management. The 5 institutions I am looking into are New York University, Howard University, George Mason University, Spelman College and Dartmouth College. My historical black college is Spelman and my out of state colleges are Howard, Dartmouth and George Mason. I chose NYU because they have a good film program where I can pursue the theatre management major and the same is true for George Mason University. I’d attend Howard for either business or theatre management. I am interested in attending Dartmouth College because it is one of the top business schools in the United States. Spelman would be excellent for their general theatre arts program.

HIV/AIDS Awareness – Dasia’s Perspective

It is important to raise awareness about this disease among our community members because when you have no knowledge on a subject as important like this one you’re bound to make a fatal mistake. And when people have no knowledge on a subject as serious as this one the disease spreads. I can personally make a difference by educating the people around me about the consequences and effects of a disease of this kind.

Facebook Donated $100 Millions to Newark Public Schools – Dasia’s Reaction

I feel Mark Zuckerberg’s donation was a good way to inspire people to donate to the public school system because tax dollars don’t seem to be enough. The donation should be used to make the environment children are learning more welcome and more stimulating; but I think the donation should definitely be used to buy new and updated text books.

Dasia’s Personal and Professional Goals

In one year, on a personal level, I would like to live in Queens and in the tenth grade. In five years from now, I see myself attending college outside of New York. In ten years I would like to have a house and, on a professional level, to have a job in the field I major and graduated from.
