Should Professional Athletes and Musical Artists Considered Role Models? – Albert Brunn Jr.

I do not think that all professional athletes or musicians should be role models. I feel that many athletes and musicians are positive. However, there are also some that act very negatively. Many of the negative ones talk about drugs, guns, and going to jail like it’s cool. I can’t imagine anything enjoyable about being high, getting shot or being incarcerated. Unfortunately, our youth seems to like these celebrities most. We need to expose our youth to the positive athletes and musicians. However, It’s not only our youth that needs to listen to and take in positive things. Some adults give negative and false information to the youth, and the youth passes it on. Maybe we should stop looking to celebrities as our only role models. Entertainment and athletics pays well, but teachers, firemen, policemen, doctors and members of the military perform jobs that matter more. They earn a small fraction of what entertainers and athletes are compensated, but their jobs are more important to society.

What Other African Country Would Albert Like to Visit?

I would like to visit India.  I will never forget when we (JFC Ambassadors) all went to see Slum Dog Millionaire.  That movie really touched me.  Since then, I’ve thought, I wish I could go there and do service work.  In my opinion, just from viewing that movie, I feel that the slums of India are worse than the slums in Africa.  I know what my ancestors have been through.  Pain, unpaid work, and mental distress were all part of their daily existence, from birth until death.  The people living in these slums of India don’t belong to themselves.  Child slavery is still going on in parts of their country.  We should help put an end to this.

This Year Bad Winter Season by Albert Brunn Jr.

I agree with the people that feel global warming was the cause of the harsh winter.  The weather is fluctuating because the ozone layer is being destroyed.  The ozone layer is being damaged, and the earth’s heat isn’t being contained.  This condition makes it really cold during winter.  I try to keep the planet clean and green.  I recycle everything that is allowed.  I would like to do more community cleanings.  They are fun and help our environment.  Some people may not care about our earth, but I do.

Albert Brunn Jr.’s Thoughts About Cathy Black, The Ex-NYC’s School Chancellor.

Yes, I do think people have the right to be upset at NYC’s Mayor Bloomberg when he appointed Cathy Black as School Chancellor.  I would be mad too if I knew my children’s schools were being watched by an inexperienced person.  I don’t believe that an individual should be running schools without an educational background.  In my opinion, it’s simply not the job for them.  You cannot have someone without teaching qualifications in charge of instructors that have more teaching experience.  In my opinion, the problem with NYC schools is that everyone is grouped together.  I believe that in order for more students to be properly educated they should be put in classes with students of similar knowledge.  Grouping students by intelligence will allow the class to move together and learn as a group.

South Sudan Break Away From Sudan by Albert Brunn Jr.

The present, in Sudan, is an important and historic moment because this means that there is going to be another country in the world.  Similar to the way July 4th is a big deal for the people in The United States of America, Sudanese people will have their Independence Day as well.  They are gaining their freedom.  They will need to declare their independence, create a constitution and join The United Nations.

This is a big deal for them, because they have been at war for their independence for decades.  So many lives have been lost just because someone wants to have power over parts of other people’s lives that they are not entitled to control.  This makes me angry, because they’re trying to ruin other lives.  Why should they have the right to live freely, while other people can’t?

I believe that the Sudanese people feel that they will get freedom, a different state of mind, and a government that only their citizens regulate.  In my opinion, even when the Sudanese people become their own nation, they will be bullied.  I think they will be attacked, because they will be a new country that doesn’t have a strong military.  They may even be attacked by the same people from which they gained independence.

Albert Brunn III on The Public Outcry For Gun Control

I believe that there needs to be better gun control.  There is an abundance of violent crimes being committed due to the possession of guns.  Guns are highly dangerous when they are used as intended, and with accidental firings added to the mix, injuries and deaths do occur.  In my opinion, guns shouldn’t be in the possession of a civilian.  Law enforcement officers are a different story, because they are protecting the community.

What I can do to help is to put together a special undercover law enforcement team, so they can find illegal gun sellers.  This will help get illegal guns off the streets, and allow law abiding citizens to worry less about safety in their communities.  I also believe that safety and firearm education should be taught to all children in all schools in the U.S.A.

Given the Revolution in Egypt, How Does Albert Brunn III Feel to Live in a Democracy?

A democracy is a better form of government than a dictatorship.  A democracy offers more freedom and equality between citizens.  When it comes to dictatorship, there is one person in charge of everyone.  That person often has a small group of powerful people and a military force to keep things in their favor.  With governing like this, the people have very little or no freedom depending on the ruler or group.  With a democracy there are steps that you have to go through before a law is passed.  In a dictatorship, the ruler can simply create a law and it goes into effect after it’s put on paper.  These are important reasons why a democracy is better for Egypt than a dictatorship.

What Would Albert Brunn III Say to President Obama if He Could Speak With Him

Hello world,

It’s Albert Alfredo Brunn III, again.  Thanks for reading my blogs.  It’s great to know that my voice is being heard at 14 years of age.

If I had 5 minutes with President Obama in the oval office, I would talk about pollution.  I would talk to him about different ways to prevent polluting the earth.  I would tell him about something I have been working on myself.  I am very serious about this project.  I have different partnerships and professionals helping me.  I also wrote a proposal to get money from my family to help with development.  I would like to tell the world what it is, but you will know in about two years.  My project involves creating a cleaner method of transportation.

I would suggest that all new cars sold after a certain time, must be either hybrid or electric.  I feel that pollution is a big deal all around the world, especially in the cluttered spaces of some major cities in The United States of America.  We all need to go green, for our own health and for the quality of life of future citizens of the world.

Albert Brunn’s College Choices

Hey world,

This is Albert.  My 5 college choices so far are Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Colby College, Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Virginia Tech College of Architecture and Urban Studies and Westwood College.

I chose Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences because I want to become an architect/engineer.  It would serve the engineering part of my future career.  If I attend this school, engineering would be my major.  If I end up at Colby College I would like to major in engineering.  I’ve taken a school trip there and I loved it.  The people were great.  The environment and classes were excellent.  Everything seemed perfect for me.

If I were to attend Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Sciences I would major in engineering.  I would like to go to this school because I have taken a tour of it, and the school is wonderful.  Another reason I would attend this school is because it’s close to home.  I could get a great education and still enjoy New York City life.  That’s the best of both worlds!

I would attend Virginia Tech College of Architecture and Urban Studies, because I want to be an architect, while still focusing on engineering.  I think I’d enjoy studying at Westwood College, and majoring in Auto-CAD and Design.  I would go there because I am already using Auto-CAD in my high school.  I would enter college with experience and knowledge of the program.  This would be beneficial while I’m working on becoming an architect /Engineer.

What to Do About Students Low Reading Scores in New York by Albert Brunn Jr.

I think what we have to do is to make school interesting for everyone.  I used to get bored at my old school.  Now that I am going to a school that holds my interest I never miss a step.  What we need to do as a community is making sure our youth is educated while entertained.  The youth is our future and we can only pass on information that we were taught.  If learning is entertaining, our youth will learn so much and don’t even know it. It’s a shame that we have to resort to actions like this so children can get their education.  They need to recognize that adults are pushing them because they care about them.  I know that as a student, learning is easier when you are doing something fun.  For example, field trips or class learning games are good ways to educate and entertain students.
