Nia Bey’s Thoughts About Cathy Black, The Ex-NYC’s School Chancelor

Yes, I think people have the right to be upset because how can Cathy Black, the ex-NYC School Chancellor try to fight for parents trust in New York City public schools if she sends her children to private school. That sends a message that she must not like something about the public school. I also think people have the right to be mad because many people can’t afford to send their children to private school.  They have no choice. I think she needs to set a better example and show that New York City public schools are safe and good for her children to attend.

The public schools have many problems that need to be fixed. Cathy could be the one to bring about change. She might, for example, work toward making sure the schools have enough supplies and equipment because of her business background. Our schools are in need of adequate security. This is in addition to the lack of motivation and encouragements coming from the teachers and school administrators.
